PROBLEM TO SOLVE FOR

How to improve project workflow in Jira for a small team by eliminating the amount of manual time spent to set up, manage, and delegate tasks and projects by minimizing the number of clicks, simplifying the workflow, and highlighting visibility for the user.

APPLIED RESEARCH

User testing, qualitative research, and competitive analysis were done to understand the pain points of multi-disciplinary users across the marketing organization. This research was applied to develop a three-phase proposal plan to improve the alignment of capacity to resources and time to project completion.

95% COMPLETION RATE
IN 3 SPRINTS

A capacity calculator was created to manage the team workload, incorporating time for planning and creative thinking in addition to project hours. By using a t-shirt sizing approach, when launched, within three 2-week sprints, work that was planned in the sprint had a 95% completion rate as compared to the previous sprints. Before this study, work was delivered late 50% of the time, sprints broke and were over capacity and not aligned to current resouces.
